my sofas are a deep red colour and my rug is black, i want some new curtains in my living room. i have a window and french doors so need 2 sets of curtains and not sure what colour to go for, maybe a gold colour would look nice? not sure!

a red pair of cutains with a black design on them if you sofa is plain red and your rug is plain black dont throw in too many different colours the black design will bring a nice contrast always remember in a room light dark light dark with all furnishings with furniture thats plain always add some design with curtains also ad some white voile underneath as these colours are very dark and it will bring it all together then add some nice red and white cushions on your red sofa

what did sofas look like in the 1960s.
can you please describe the colours and the style and the design and what is special about it and what’s different to the ones we have now?..please help…my sister wants to know.

We had a cottage sofa and chairs they were wooden framed and had wooden arms and padded out with material with cushions.
The material was hard waring like sitting on a brilo pad and come in brown, red or blue. Not the most comfy things to sit on but in 60’s we were out more than in.
That is what we had anyway my nans was a well padded hard course sofa material like cordroy itched when you sat on it. It was also very heavy so once placed you never moved it. ha It lasted her 30 years!!!!!!
